SubVersion Stop 311: Dom And Roland Spotlight Mix
After the success of the 2003 to 2025 Vector Burn [Warm Communications, Covert Operations, Beta, Bio-Shield et al labels] Spotlight Mix, DJ Muttley is currently putting together a Dom And Roland Spotlight Mix for 2025 to 2026. Get your track requests in! Most of the tracks featured are rarities and primarily released 1997 and after. These tracks by Dom [and his Roland sampler] take a detour from the Nasty Habits 'Shadow Boxing' techstep track, that established a dance floor dnb sound from the year 1997 onwards. Current selections: 'Thunder' [from the 1990s LP 'Industry'], 'Soundwall VIP' mix [Artwork vinyl], 'Paradrenasite' [featuring Hive], 'Moulin Rouge [Karl K, Kaos & Dieselboy Mix]', 'Rhino [featuring Skynet]'[three tracks from the Dom & Roland LP 'Chronology'], 'Moodswings [featuring Gridlok]', 'Chaos Theory [featuring Hive], 'Ritual' [with Sketch], '45 Special' [three tracks on Dom & Roland Productions, Dom's own vinyl label, released 2005 and after] 'Killa Bullet' ['the bullet in the sugar killed him' vocal], [Hive Remaster], Dom & DJ Crystl 'The Zero Point', and [onomateopeaic [it sounds like what it is] mix samples featured on the 'Can't Punish Me and 'Sky Spirits' Promo CD on the Moving Shadow label, and there may be some Outlook [Dom 1990s tech step alias, see 'New York', in The Dastardly Diaries Chapter 2], sounds as well. 'Reimagination EP' and 'Dedication', new records on Individual Recordings label, on Bandcamp in 2025, including the legendary 'Imagination VIP Mix', may also feature. From 'Code Of The Streets DVD' drum n bass from 2003 to 2025, Dom And Roland talks through some of his production techniques on 'Moodswings [featuring Gridlok]', featured in a www.dogsonacid Promotional Mix, mixed by DBridge, where he says 'You have to f**k with a sound to make it yours', with many dnb heads losing interest in dnb after the millenium, DJ Muttley hopes to put the amazing sounds of Dom [and his Roland] into a Spotlight Mix for the heads, and the heads new to the drum n bass scene in the future. When the mix set is complete, I edit the post with the track list. Cheers ~ MuttleySV
